It Snowed! |
During the night it snowed. Cathy and David were very
excited when they woke up and saw all the snow. They could
hardly wait to go outside. David wanted to build a
snowman. He started rolling up a big snowball for the
body. |
Cathy made a smaller snowball for the head. She put it on
top of the body. David patted the snow into place. |
They stood back to look at it. "I shall go and find some
twigs for arms" Cathy told David, while he started work on the
face. |
He put a carrot on for a nose. "It needs eyes and a mouth"
Cathy told him. |
David found two pebbles for eyes and a twig for the snowman's
mouth. "Will you go in and find a hat and scarf for the
snowman to wear?" David asked Cathy. She came back and
handed the scarf to David to hold and put the hat onto the
snowman's head to keep him warm. |
"Wow" David told her, that looks really cute at that jaunty
angle. |
"What do you think of the scarf?" He asked her. "I think
the snowman looks great" she replied. "Isn't it fun to
have snow!" |
They looked at the snowman for a little while and then David
said, "I shall go and get the sled from the garage". |
David came back pulling the sled behind him. "Do you want
to have a ride Cathy?" he asked. Cathy in the meantime had
other ideas. She picked up some snow... |
Made a snowball and threw it at David. |
They had fun throwing snowballs at each other for a while. |
Then Cathy sat on the sled and David pulled her along. |
She dragged the sled up to the top of a small slope and whizzed
down towards David. "Gosh that's fun" she gasped. |
"It's my turn next" David said. |
"The snow is really deep" Cathy said to David as he sped towards
her. Mum says that we have more than 8 inches of snow.
I hope it will still be here tomorrow!! Wouldn't that be
fun! |
"What have you got in your hand Cathy?" "I am cold, I'm
going in and to have a hot ribena" David said, "Are you coming
Cathy?" |
"That was great fun! I can't wait to go out again as soon
as I have warmed up" They headed indoors, leaving the
snowman in a winter wonderland. |
