I immediately grabbed the camera and set to work doing a story I have had planned in my head for a very long time. In Northern Ireland we do not get very much snow. It is years since we had as heavy a fall as this and it was not expected to remain. Cathy and David immediately volunteered for this assignment. Some of the others were a bit jealous and sneaked out later for an impromptu snowball fight. It was a fun story to create, if a very cold and wet one! I hope that you will enjoy the new story "It Snowed".
16 October 2007 The Gallery of Styles which showed photos of outfits I have made and sold in the past has been reworked today into the Gallery of Inspiration. I thought that by changing the layout and the way that the sold outfits are shown, into types of garment that it would be more interesting to look through. 15 October 2007 Some lovely new outfits have been added with 3 new styles of sweater and a new skirt style. Very cute. 12 October 2007 I have revamped my Home page to make it easier to navigate. The Halloween Party story is back. I have added some preview photos for stories which are being worked on at the moment. 6 October 2007 In the Sasha line, there have been a couple of new arrivals. The most beautiful has to be the blonde fringe girl from 1968. I haven't named her yet. The right name has not yet come to me. Other new arrivals are a couple of Kelly Wenarsky's lovely customised girls, Emilie and Bethany. 30 July 2007 I have been working on a new story for the Sasha dolls. It isn't quite finished yet. Mum and I were in Dundrum visiting friends and I brought my Sasha's and props to the beach at Murlough Bay. Of course, mum was trying out her new camera and took a snap of me photographing them. Initially, I set everything up slightly closer to the sea, then I realised the tide was coming in and had a very rushed collecting up of everything and by this point paddling through the water that had now surrounded the sand bank I and my Sasha dolls were on. I got reset up and continued with the photo shoot. Mum and her friend sat some way up the beach from us though!!! 28 May 2007 I visited Kent and met my gorgeous new niece, Tara. She is pictured here with Maya's baby Sasha Sundress, who she describes as her precious! Beautiful Recent Arrival - Katie The Princess Waif - Josephine
14 May 2007 Over the next few days I shall be adding some new outfits in the for sale section. I have completed a new story about Mark going for a walk on the Cavehill. I hope you will enjoy it. It is a departure from my usual stories as I don't normally photograph the Sasha or Gregor dolls in public places. Found myself looking around to see if anyone was coming and setting everything up for the photograph, before I took Mark out of my duffle bag and posed him, then another quick look around before the photo was taken!! I was really delighted with the finished result though. I shall be going away for a week from Monday 21st May to Monday 28th May to visit my sister-in-law and see my new niece Tara. 4 April 2007 A new story added for Easter in Sasha at Home. Easter Egg Hunt. Hope you enjoy it. 10 March 2007 I have just finished photographing some of the new outfits and put them onto the website in the For Sasha sales page. When I was photographing the models (who were looking very cute) my husband Neil came into the room and said, "They even have a Green Room to wait in". So I took a quick snap of the "Green Room" for you to see. They do look cute waiting around and chatting with each other. 1 March 2007 The changes to Sasha Doll Style have continued and I hope that the site will be easier to find your way around. Your feedback is always appreciated. A Quick Overview of Sasha Doll Style New to the site are some long awaited knitting patterns. I have knit several sweaters from these patterns. I am sure you will enjoy creating beautiful sweaters for your Sasha dolls in lots of different colour schemes. I look forward to seeing photos of your finished knitwear. More knitting patterns are nearing completion and will be added soon.
26 February 2007 Towards the end of January my new computer arrived. Since then I have been working on some changes to the website. I have also been trying to learn to use some of the new software. For some time now, I have been aware of problems for people with slower connections or dial up service to be able to get onto Sasha Doll Style for a visit. This was partly due to the stories being put on the Home page. To try and improve this, I have changed the photos to thumbnail format. At this stage I have just changed the existing photos to thumbnails but for future photographs being put onto the site it will allow me to include larger clearer images. There is a new section in the menu - Sasha at Home - which will take you to stories and settings. They have been divided into three sections, the feature story (which at the moment is the Boys Monopoly Game), the Indoor Settings and the Outdoor Scenarios. The feature stories will be kept in full size rather than thumbnails for ease of reading but this will cause the page to be slower to view. There are of course a new feature story in the pipeline but it is not yet completed. I am at present busy working on the next selection of attractive outfits and hope to have the first ones ready for photography soon. Please let me know if you come across in glitches in the new setup. 8 January 2007 I hope that everyone had a lovely Christmas and New Year celebration. I had a lovely Christmas and New Year. The 3 weeks with Neil, mum, Maya, Pippa and other friends and family just flew by so quickly. Brimming with new ideas, now I just need to get myself back into work mode. 4 December 2006 December has started off well after a horrible November, I was ill and was unable to do any sewing, reading, photography or even watching tv which was awfully frustrating. I am now back on form and have my to do list and am gradually getting items ticked off. I have started by getting some of the outfits which have been sitting for a while waiting for photographing put onto Sashadollstyle. I received some useful feedback in October and decided to put most of my duffle coats on as separate items. This allows for more flexibility. I have still made matching outfits to go with the duffle coats as it is by far the nicest way to photograph them but these will now be available as separate outfits. Let me know what you think of the changes. I have started planning my Christmas story and hope to start on the photography next weekend. When it is ready I shall take the Halloween Party off the site until next October. I have had a few new arrivals. A beautiful toddler Esther, cute modern looking boy Michel with his long fringe, A LE princess waif who I am making an outfit for and an early redhaired dungarees girl from 1968. I shall add photos of them to my Sasha collection soon so you can see how lovely they look. 24 September 2006 I am going to England for a week. Travelling over on the overnight ferry on the 26th to accompany my mum and Maya on their trip back to Kent. I look forward to enjoying a few days with family. Also looking forward to visiting the wonderful fabric shop in Tunbridge Wells. I shall reply to any emails I receive within a couple of days of my return. 18 September 2006 I had a really lovely birthday and anniversary this year. I have had some fun winning new Sasha models on ebay from three friendly sellers. I finally succeeded in buying a beautiful Gotz Maria from Gloria, a beautiful new blue eyed pintucks from Anita and lovely redhaired Gotz Marina from Carolyn. All of these are so beautiful that I can hardly wait for them to arrive. Claudius and his little sister Lena are very excited to have their big sister Marina arriving soon and I think they will look very pretty for a while displayed in a group with all of them wearing their sailor suits. My other Sasha treats were a lovely Trendon nightdress and dressing gown set and a mackintosh with red beret. Mark has not wanted to take off the mackintosh since it arrived. September has been a very hectic month, working on new outfits and with my mum and my niece Maya back in Belfast. We have had a lot of fun taking Maya to the beach at Crawfordsburn and Groomsport and spending afternoons on various daytrips suitable for a toddler.
12 August 2006 Thank you for all the useful comments that I have received about the website. They have been really helpful. I get lots of emails enquiring when the new outfits will be ready. I have just updated the site with some new smocked dresses. At the moment I am also working on some new styles of smocked dress as well. One pretty prototype is now being worn by Cora and I am enjoying working on these new designs. Knitting Patterns I am working hard on the knitting patterns. The process is quite slow, as I am going through the notes that I made when designing the sweater, rewriting them, and knitting the sweater from the written pattern to look for any glitches then typing them up. The sweaters that I am knitting at the moment will be part of the Autumn range of outfits. I have 15 of the patterns at various stages of this process at the moment. I have been thinking of selling the patterns by email, rather than printing them out and sending by snail mail. I have had good feedback on this intention and would also welcome your views about this. New Outfits I am also working on some new outfit styles for Autumn. Question: I am thinking about updating the site with new outfits seasonally, new Autumn range on 1st October, new Winter range on 1st December, new Spring range on 1st March and new Summer range on 1st June. This would give me time to work on the new clothing rather than adding the clothes in a piecemeal fashion. I would really appreciate your views on this idea. Next setting The fun thing that I am doing at the moment is setting up the kitchen setting... After much time trying to find a kitchen sink in the right size, my husband is now making me a kitchen sink unit, and a window, and shelves... I treated him to a present of a nice new precision saw and some wood in a selection of sizes to help in making these. I have had some fun on ebay watching out for props too. I am working on the story for the setting and I think it will probably have the girls having some fun. Sasha dolls One of my models, Emma, has gone to live with a nice new mum, mainly because I have realised that I really have too many early 70's blonde girls and I think I need to move a few on. In the near future, I shall sell Stacey as well. In June, I bought a new Gregor from Kelly Wenarsky. I keep intending to photograph him to put into the Sasha Collection page but haven't yet done so. He is really special with lovely early eye painting. My sister-in-law was visiting and when she saw my Sasha dolls, she said, "they really do look very different to each other". My point exactly..... on the necessity of the odd additional Sasha or Gregor....
